Constipation from Lack of Physical Activity ?

If constipated, stools are usually hard, dry, small in size, painful and difficult to expel. People who are constipated too often endure straining, bloating and a full bowel sensation. There are people who barely have a bowel motion in a day and thought they are constipated. It is best to note that normal bowel movement ranges from three times a day to a minimum of three times a week.

Bowel motion frequency depends from person to person. Also, constipation is a symptom and not a disease.Almost everyone gets to experience these symptoms at some point in their lives. Most constipation is temporary and not that serious but the negative effects can be serious. Understanding the cause of constipation may help anybody prevent experiencing such. For now, let's take focus on lack of physical activity as a cause of constipation.

This symptom has been shown to be related to decreasing levels of physical activity and mostly common among the elderly. Regular physical exercise is vital for the health and well being of every individual. However, there are a large number of populations who do not believe in the idea that physical exercise is essential. It should be known that physical idleness is the most widespread threat in developing certain serious diseases, such as heart ailments, and serious physical symptoms, such as constipation and obesity.

Physical activity is regarded as one of the most effective ways in preventing certain diseases. It can reduce the risk of developing constipation. The basic theory on the benefits of exercise on prevention of constipation is that the movement of striated, regular muscles stimulates the intestinal muscles to bond. The contraction of muscles helps in expulsion of fecal matter without any difficulty. The intestinal muscles are kinds of smooth muscle that is involuntary and requires no conscious control. But with the aid of regular physical activities, the intestinal contractions are stimulated, thereby, preventing further the incidence of constipation.

A program on performing physical exercises in prevention and treatment of constipation is always beneficial. Physical activity is always an advocate of chronic constipation treatment.
